We felt like superstars walking the Red Carpet, thanks to RSPCA Queensland
We did it! On Sunday 17 May nearly a million paws across Australia walked in the Million Paws Walk to fight back against animal cruelty.
Tidda was especially excited as it was the first time she has participated in the Million Paws Walk. I was just as excited as last year I walked in my home state of Victoria, this year we were walking in Queensland - it was MUCH warmer here!
Collectively, little paws in Queensland raised over $210,000 for RSPCA Queensland. That is a lot of money that will enormously assist the RSPCA to provide shelter, care and food for the tens of thousands of animals that come in to their care each year.
We worked pretty hard on our fundraising campaign in the weeks leading up to the MPW. We were so proud to be in the top three fundraisers for Queensland. As well as raising lots of money to fight against animal cruelty, we were treated like rockstars on the day. We walked the Red Carpet and got to enjoy a few extra perks on the day. But, most of all we just wanted to hang out with our buddies and have fun - which we DID!
We could not have blitzed our fundraising goal without pawsome support from our community. We were overwhelmed that friends far and near all chipped in to sponsor our walk. So, we are sending our heart-felt thanks to each and everyone of the following for their supPAWt:
Amy Stroud
Annie Pullar
Ash Leigh
Cheryl Horrocks
Fletcher
Hannah Jones
Michelle Giuliani
Patty + Kiki (our feline sisters, who themselves are rescues)
Sandy
Tanya Marshall
Trichelle
Zoe Davis
We want to make special mention of little doggy Rambo,
who has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We walked with Rambo in our hearts.
So from us, to you, we want to say thank you. Your support means so much for all the animals that this year will help because they do not have loving homes like we do. Every dollar makes an absolute world of difference.
If you'd like to see some of our photos from the day. Jump on over to our Facebook page and check out our photo album. And, Mum - it's ok you had an epic fail with the GoPro on the day. We forgive you.
Woofs and wags,
Fella xx
